Brought a co-worker here for lunch. He ordered the jerk chicken and I ordered the oxtail. The decor is really nice. Small restaurant behind the Wienerschnitzel. It smells amazing in there.

When we got our food we could not stop eating until we were finished. The jerk chicken is perfectly cooked falling off the bone and the sauce is amazing. Both sweet and sour and a hint of spice it would taste great on anything. And the oxtail was falling off the bone and just succulent. Both were served with rice and garlicky side vegetable of cabbage. Also some fried plantains and a fried dough thing. I would highly recommend this place even though it's in a small Plaza in a little hard to park. The best Jamaican food I've had in a very long time.

The food is great but don't call it in. They will leave you on hold for 10 minutes and when you walk in and show them the time on your phone they will have the audacity to have a nasty attitude when you ask them can they be accommodating for their poor customer service. So just try to catch them on a good day or be prepared to possibly be forgotten about.

I overheard a whole conversation of the guy flirting with a lady trying to ask her out and even knew she was headed to the airport and just visiting here while I waited on hold.

That was totally unprofessional. I talked to the manager and got my plate compensated.

The second time it happened Rory was rude and told me "I ain't getting no free plate"! That's not how you talk to customers and you should be pretty accommodating and care a little more about your customer service when I've stated that this is the second time you all did this.

So I guess it's a regular thing to people on hold for 10 minutes and forget all about them. So much for appreciating your customers eh?!

Do I need to call better business bureau next? Lol

As a Jamaican and a New Yorker, I can definitively say this is the closest I've come to authentic Jerk Chicken in Los Angeles.

I visited Little Kingston for dinner a few weeks ago and was determined to try the jerk chicken dinner plate ($14). The plate comes with both white and dark meat, a heaping of rice and peas, festival and steamed cabbage. I got it all, except the steamed cabbage. I ordered at the counter and waited for my name to be called. It took about 20 - 25 minutes and to my surprise, my order was packed up like I was taking it to-go, which I wasn't. I just took it out of the bag and ate it in the restaurant.

The serving size was HUGE. So huge in fact that I was eating left overs for the next three days. The jerk chicken was tender, and the jerk seasoning, which was placed on the side, was more spicy and authentic than others I have had in West LA. The festival was smaller than most festivals I have had and also tasted like it was prepared from a mix instead of made from scratch. Outside of that, everything was pretty good.

Since it takes a while from them to prepare orders, I would highly recommend ordering on doordash or yelp so that your order is ready when you arrive, if you plan on doing take-out.

I was suspicious about the e-coupon, and it turns out that I was right. Sure, there's a discount, but it's only because the food quality is so poor. The jerk chicken was the only thing that came close to hitting the spot, so two stars for that. The ox tails were rubbery; the cabbage had freezer bag veggies mixed in, and the shrimp patty I ordered was filled with chicken. Go figure.

Before I even arrived to pick up my order, I received a notification that the fresh juice I'd ordered was canceled. I arrived to a bustling parking lot, full of loitering teens, hanging out at the hot dog stand next door. Inside, a sign warned that guests with "attitude" would not be served. Meanwhile, the woman at the counter had enough attitude for both of us. I asked if the chef ever made Irish Moss, and she looked in the fridge for a can. I asked her to ask the chef if he made it from scratch, and she looked at me like I'd requested to hold her first born child. Finally, she sashayed into the back for all of three seconds before turning back to me and issuing a firm "no!" as if I were her child.

Return? Never. I wanted authentic Jamaican, not Ja-fake-an, food. And I definitely don't pay for sass, ever.

I have to say, this has to be a great hidden gym of LA. The family feel of the restaurant. The colors, music, true Jamaicans employed throughout the staff. And the smell of a good night sleep all throughout the restaurant. This food is some of the best Jamaican food I've as in a long time. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the rice and peas were amazing. Gravy is nothing short of flavorful with a kick. The cabbage wasn't my favorite but the plantains saved the day along with the patties. I won't lie, the patties are a must. The shrimp patty is seasoned well with a beautiful flaky golden crust. All in all, I highly recommend and feel this is a great place to eat.
